Extending your home to the outdoors at 66 Isabella

An outdoor balcony is a luxury space that often doesn't get the TLC it deserves! With Spring just around the corner, it's time to start thinking about how to make your outdoor space an exciting extension of your home.

Dining on your balcony is a fun way to change up dinnertime! Choose a petite bistro set for small meals or bench style seating for meals with friends. A sturdy wood or aluminum set will withstand the outdoor elements and are generally suited for all season use. Folding Adirondack chairs are great for creating a reading nook or a quiet spot to enjoy the view. When you choose folding furniture, you can tuck it away when not in use or rearrange with ease.

If you have a green-thumb, a balcony railing can help you to create a multi-tiered garden by using railing planters full of beautiful blooms along with standing plants and tabletop arrangements. To help save floor space and add a little decorative touch, use an old bar cart or an old metal bookshelf to house your smaller plants or herb garden.

Don't forget about your lighting! When you choose portable lighting options, you can change your lighting for different occasions. For overhead lighting, hanging fairy lights or lanterns can easily be added or moved around. Or, try stringing white lights around a standing lantern or set flameless candles inside Mason jars for a little accent lighting. You could even choose solar lighting if your balcony gets enough sunlight through the day.

Keep in mind a balcony is an extension of your living space, even during the winter months! Take in the crisp air with a hot beverage and enjoy the wintery view, or cuddle under a thick throw and watch the stars. Decorating your balcony with evergreen wreaths, large rocks, or a bunch of branches add a nice seasonal touch.
