Congrats! You've settled into your new neighbourhood at 66 Isabella.
You've already found the best route to work a great café for your morning coffee, and a trendy bar or restaurant for a night out. But, do you really know your neighbourhood?
Getting to know your neighbourhood takes time. New friends and neighbours can introduce you to places they enjoy, but you may still be missing out on places that are more to your taste and unique interests.
How do you 'get to know' a neighbourhood? Simple! Go for a walk. We are located in an exciting area of urban Toronto, but did you know there are hidden parks and gardens all around us?
The Uptown Discovery Walk is a self-guided tour that will lead you to the hidden gems of our neighbourhood. You can find quiet nooks to read, discover new places to shop and restaurants to dine in, or just tour some of our Toronto history.
Below is a list of places along the Uptown Discovery Walk that are worth experiencing:
Starting on March 20th, Easter will be in full bloom in the conservatories.
Paul Kane House & Park
Experience a little history and visit the home of the 19th century Toronto artist Paul Kane.
This public park is located on Ryerson University grounds. There is a seasonal ice rink and during the spring/summer months the water reflects the Ryerson Image Centre's illumination.
Take in some shopping or have a picnic in the park.
A quiet green space on the University of Toronto grounds. Midafternoon is a quiet time to visit and see the statues.
Royal Ontario Museum
Discounted tickets are offered Fridays after 4:30pm.
The best part of a self-guided tour is you are the guide. You decide how long you walk, where you go, and what you stop to see. So grab a copy of the Uptown Discovery Walk brochure or download the app that will help you navigate the tour.
Stop by your new favourite café on the way out and go exploring!
